Gents, got me a new project to monkey with, another 858.Its in pieces as we speak, stripped of paint.
Waiting on a few parts in the mail.

Now, I've been lurking on various forums, and ran into an AK wearing HK MP5 irons. This got me thinking, why not, somehow bubble gum something like that on the rear dust cover on my 858.And by bubble gum, I meant weld on.The dust cover is quite solid on this little bastard, so, maintaining zero is a feasible thought. The front sights would be welded onto the gas block.

I'm just spitballing here, what are your thoughts?
Any input would be appreciated.

No reason you couldn't do it. Sort of like a Galil with the rear sight mounted on the receiver cover. Alternately, you could just get one of the railed receiver covers and mount a diopter rear sight (maybe an HK one?) onto the rail.

I've tried a couple of different railed covers, not at all a fan.Id rather go permanent, and low profile,so to speak.

Now, where to get these diopters?
I've read, some dudes using high quality airsoft irons.......sounds a bit sketchy, but if they're solid, well made and steel, it might just be doable.
