I wanted to share with you all my experience in the last 15 minutes with DIPinc.

For those of you that don't know, they make and sell a lot of specialty products for CZ, Savage, Marlin, etc. A lot of Rimfire, but some CF too.

Their website won't let you order and they won't ship to Canada, but, as I just found out, they'll gladly ship to the border and then you can pick things up, or you can use a brokerage firm (I use Percy Davis IPX).

Big thanks to Karen for helping me out, being knowledgeable, and cooperative!!!!

My new 455 Evo is gonna be TRICKED OUT!!!

Kinney's reply is very fast. I have a Dip 25MOA extended rail 3/8" I bought for a CZ which is the wrong part turns out my gun needs the 11mm. he has offered to take it back & exchange it for me.

I would rather sell it here then ship a gun part back to the US for exchange. Also Kinney doesn't have all the DiP items they make

He can get them though....went through that with them before. He placed a special order from DIP for me, then sent it up.
Good guy.

They weren't so friendly to ship anything anywhere for a Canadian the other year, but Kinneys did hook me up if i recall, a decent product, picatinny rail for the B mag

Oh?? That's too bad. They've done it for me twice. They won't ship to Canada, but they'll ship to the border.

When was your first order? Last time I Called was a while back and they weren't helpful in any way, they must have changed things up which is good for us I suppose.

The lady on the phone at the time didn't want to sell to a Canadian visa, wouldn't ship to Canada and couldn't tell me a Canadian distributor, I think I found the place I bought it from through CGN a week or two later.

If you go down and bring them across the border yourself, here is a good read.

Optics are ITAR controlled. That's where the problem came in in the story above.

As far as I know the pieces I've ordered are not, and even if they are, there is a $500 ITAR exemption.

The Canadian side could care less about ITAR, it's only the US side that does. That has come directly from the mouth of Canadian Border officers.

Much more the optics are controlled, literally every gun part is covered either under ITAR or Department of Commerce. It's getting stopped over there exporting the goods yourself that is the offence. The $500 exemption applies to businesses that already have registered export permits in place, you should educate yourself on the risks involved for exporting gun parts out of the USA personally.

You are wrong and are breaking the law to export those products.

So when Kinney's does it for all those that have mentioned it above, that's breaking the law?? How about when Brownell's ships parts to us for 17$, no questions asked??

Why don't you both educate us on the fine details of what are ITAR and what aren't?? I know for certain it's not ALL gun parts.

I'm not saying I'm right, but lets get this RIGHT so that others reading this aren't misled.

They are registered exporters with the state department and/or department of commerce. And it's not just ITAR but they do cover most parts, commerce department covers the rest.

Yeah Kinney's was a pleasure to deal with. Fast shipping, no hassles. Ordered a pica tinny rail for my ruger american. I asked around on this forum and the members recommended kinneys

Canadian law allows you to import pretty much anything classified "non-restricted" without an import permit, just declare the goods and pay the appropriate duties/taxes. Cool, awesome. The issues are all to do with US law where essentially you cannot export anything firearms related without a permit. You *could* legally go to the US and personally export your items, after registering as an exporter for fees north of $2000 USD, obtaining an export license (permit) for the items for another $250 per item (8-12 week processing) or filing them under a small parts exemption and waiting 30-60 days for approval. Not exactly worth it for a few DIP accessories.

If you are caught by US authorities attempting to export items without authorization you are in for a world of hurt.

As far as ordering from Brownells and the like, there seems to be some grey area on some parts and I'm having a hard time finding anything definitive on it. I know I've ordered up springs and screws and such which technically need a "small parts exemption" but I sure didn't have to wait the time it takes to get one... I really don't know how the exempt items are handled.
