Dirty tricks in WWII?

My father used to teach improvised munitions in the British Army, you wouldn't believe what a pro can do with some plastic explosive, a detonator and some creativity. Re: the German hand grenade situation - Dad's answer was to take them apart, shorten the fuse, and then reassemble them. He learned his trade from men who fought in WW2.

I remember reading that the Russians used timers on bombs placed in buildings when they were retreating and the Germans were advancing
The Germans would use these buildings as bases and the bombs would go off afterwards sometimes weeks later
It apparently bothered hitler a great deal

They planted those in Kharkov and were doing it in Moscow during the battle but stopped because German's were pushed back. Every building that had any strategic value eg. factories, plants, dams, government buildings and so on had to be rigged to blow. There was a movie I watched recently where they had mines which were supposed to detonate from signal sent out by a regular military radio. That one was probably fiction though.

Humanoids have been fighting since before recorded history. Even Chimpanzees will raid and slaughter their neighbours. We've learned how to fight "dirty" by trial and error over tens of thousands of years.

No such thing as dirty tricks when fighting. If it gets to the point of fighting you fight to win. Everything goes.

This man speaks the truth. But "conventional" lets say fighting in the rink is one thing where something like a street fight is something entirely different. Never fought in the rink but had plenty of "street" experience. Yea, things like kick to the balls is totally legit tactic if it wins one a fight... People would think WTF? You kick someone in the balls? That's low! Well, you get him the balls or he might be stomping on your head in rage 30 seconds later.

Than again, it this country you never know. I still say stand up for yourself and for your close ones but I know somebody who had a book thrown at them them and who did couple of years for manslaughter that way. He used to be semi pro, light weight boxer, small frame man. Him and his wife came out of North York, Toronto bar one night, 3 pretty drunk dudes were outside, whistled and made comments towards his wife. One word led to another and he put all 3 of them on their asses. I watched security video. 7 punches in total between the 3 of them in under a minute. 1 person needed 3 because there was one miss which hit side of the body. Head shots. One of out 3 landed badly and ended up dying couple of days later in the hospital because of hairline skull fracture he sustained by hitting his head on the pavement wrong way. First 2-3 days person was ok until he wasnt. Person was sentenced to 3 odd years, minus pre trial custody because because judge said "you knew exactly what kind of damage you are capable of inflicting and you did not control yourself" kind of thing. That's one person who is a lightweight against 3 pretty chubby guys who had 3-4 inches on him.

I did "peace officer training" at a college in North Dakota, close to 5 months. Very heavy on officer safety, self defense. Soon after, I trained for 6 months at Depot in Regina. Great emphasis on boot polishing, making beds. What I took from both sessions of training was - fight to win. My Dad used to say "talk is cheap, takes money to buy whiskey".

In North Dakota, we were taught self defense by a former Navy shore patrolman. After watching him demonstrate his knowledge, I would set a land speed record running away from him.

There are plenty of army training and field manuals readily available online, like the TM 31-210 and the FM 5-31

But how does it go?

Plenty of books about the SOE/SAS operations in Europe, Maquis in France...

That is tragic for your friend. There are a lot of folks needin an ass kickin in this society. I'm totally fine with a few #### bags in coffins if it means polite society.
