Disabling Beretta ejectors

I'm going to be reloading shot shells and would rather remove my hulls by hand than with the ejectors or catching them.

In the Beretta manual it states that the ejectors can be disabled. It says this is a permanent modification. Does anyone know how to do this? I have searched and found info on removing them for cleaning, but nothing on disabling them.

Thanks in advance.

I assume that you have a 680 series gun. The best way to accomplish what you want is to shorten the ejector springs. Cut them flush with barrel. If you wish to make them extractors, you file the "hooked beak" off the ejector until it doesn't "pop" the shell out anymore. Ejectors are expensive, springs are only a few bucks.

Try removing the springs or cutting them down. Pretty much what everyone else has mentioned here before me. My added information is this. Only difference is I would try is removing the springs first from the equation if you can and see how that works. I've had different SxS and singles with Ejectors and extractors the difference I've noticed is the ejectors have springs where as the extractors do not. It might be as simple as that granted I've never had anything as nice as a Beretta. Hope that help

Removing the springs was cheap...but barely raised the rim of the shell for manual removal. They went back in.

I haven't tried shortening them yet but I think this will be the way to go. They'll still pop out but not fly over to the next station.

I just used to put my hand over the opening action, let them hit my palm, and then catch them... with a bit of practice, I could catch them without even thinking about it. I've done this for tens of thousands of shells over the years. But, if you want to manually extract, shortening the springs is the way to go hands down.
