Disappearing Thread???

I had started a thread earlier today about what people thought was a reasonable offer (as opposed to a "lowball") when negotiating on a used gun. I just looked and the thread seems to be gone.:confused::confused: I can only guess it was deleted but I wonder why? Do mods usually contact the OP or leave a message when they do that? I don't think I violated any rules but if i did I'd like to know so I don't repeat the issue.

Very, very rarely... especially when they catch a low count thread they feel is not appropriate. It could have been because a couple of "low ball offer" b*tching threads have been locked.
EDIT: Or merged into another identical thread, as stated above. (I don't watch every thread here)
A moderator may have contacted other mods and they agreed, or maybe site owner Greentips himself decided, to shut it down and delete it. I had a thread "swept away" a long time ago when I was new here. When I asked a mod about it they said I had asked about something that they would rather keep out of the media (known to troll here) and away from LEO (that are members here), but in the end that moderator was nice enough to answer my question instead. If you did not get an infraction or notice of any kind it may have been this scenario.

This is an open forum so the private individuals who own this site apply their own rules: most don't mind them but everyone here has to abide by them.
 
Well, it's no big deal.....just kind of confused me. I spent 2-3 minutes scanning the thread titles and thinking I was going blind before i accepted the fact it just wasn't there ;)
