Just got this email. I thought mdt was a canadian company? I try to support canadian companies but not if they're going to play the US citizens only game foe contests and giveaways.

I did find it a bit disappointing. I used to go to them specifically for being a Canadian company. This giveaway made me feel less brand loyalty towards them.

I'm not overreacting and suggesting to boycott them or anything. Their Customer service has always been good to me and I appreciate that they are quick to respond. I just won't weigh the fact they are Canadian as much anymore in my decision making in regards to future purchases.

Disappointed but not surprised, I bet Canadians are less than 5% of their sales now. Actually surprised they haven't moved shop to the US. (Eg Greybirch)

I like MDT because they sell good stuff and they are really great to deal with. That they are Canadian is just a bonus.

I really don't care if I can't participate in a free contest run by their American counterpart. Americans aren't permitted to enter Canadian contests either.

Unless I'm mistaken, MDT has operations in both Canada and the USA so doesn't surprise or bother me that their running a USA only giveaway. They should have a Canadian one at the same time though.

I thought it was just a canadian company that shipped to the US but I very well could be mistaken.

I will admit to being disappointed with not being able to participate in the draw, but I do and will continue to chose MDT over (other) american manufacturers as they have a superior customer service in my experience, such as loosing or breaking small parts, they will ship directly to you without the hassle of international shipping. Which I have experienced with MPA/Grey Ops(I mean cmon you cant ship me some machine screws, Lame). They also sponsor so many of the long distance shooting events all across the country which I very much appreciate. Once I can afford an ACC chassis I will be dropping my MPA chassis and never looking back.

I thought it was just a canadian company that shipped to the US but I very well could be mistaken.

They used to just ship to the states, and then they opened a manufacturing facility in the states. I believe their home base is still in BC.

It’s a Crappy Deal for us Canadian customers but life will go on ! There a BIG company now and there Big business is in the US .

The US is a different market than Canada. Glad they have a solid footprint there, it shows the ability to grow. Also super cool that you can buy a rifle with a factory MDT stock, like with CZ. I am definitely picking one of these sweet CZ 457 MDT in the near future
