Disappointing Accubond performance?

Energy can only be TRANSFORMED into heat.... energy can be TRANSFERED from one object to another....

:)

LOL...right you are...it seems we are both having a bit of an issue with terminology in this thread. Transformed into heat is correct.

The only thing that energy is capable of transfering into is heat...again, simple physics.

Respectfully, this statement demonstrates an understanding of physics below that of your average 8th grade student.

It's simply not true.

The momentum of the bullet being slowed or arrested by the tissue in the animal results in that energy being transferred to the tissue of the animal. This is evidenced by the damage to the tissue.

A bullet with 3000'lbs of kinetic energy has the potential to do far more damage to an animal than the same bullet with 1500'lbs of kinetic energy.

If you think the only thing the kinetic energy from the bullet is being transferred to is heat, well, then you don't know anything about physics.

If the world operated the way you think it does, the bullet would bounce off the skin while the animal bursts into flames...

Careful observers will note that even 'transforming into heat' is also a form of kinetic energy but at the molecular level. Heat is simply excited molecules ;)

You're a little late...we already dealt with my improper choice of words. As for heat, you are correct......I never indicated anything different:rolleyes:

The 130 grain Barnes TSX from my .270 WSM, recovered from just under the hide on the far side of my deer, looked just like the pictures provided by BC Steve in his threads and the textbook examples on the Barnes website. No lead in my meat, no fragmentation (with almost 100 % bullet weight retained), and a reaffirmation of my complete departure from lead bullets of any kind for hunting game. BTW, I used to hunt with Nosler Accubonds...:)

The end.

I've been getting the same performance from Hornady GMX, if I get to recover them.
