Hi all,

Anyone know how to do this? I've not been able to find anything online at all and am quite keen to take my Webley apart since I like knowing how my guns work! Any help for a newbie :)?

A Collector's Guide to Military Pistol & Revolver Disassembly and Reassembly Paperback
by Stuart C. Mowbray (Author) , Joe Puleo (Author)

An amazing book, beautifully photographed and easy to follow, lots of tips on the tricky parts

tokguy,

Thanks for the link to that book! I have the Ian Skennerton book on the Mk.VI (Small Arms Identification Series Nº9) which is very useful for the history and historical diagrammes but nothing as clear as the Mowbray & Puleo volume.

:) Stuart

If I was at home I'd snap some pics and send them your way...that work thing again.
But it is a truly awesome book, it's the best 'general' assembly / disassembly book for Military / Antique pistols that I've seen.
No worries Gents, pass it along

Take the grips off. #### it to compress the mainspring. You need to make a clamp to put on the spring to hold it in the compressed position. I used a fencing staple, you could use needle nose vise grips. You leave the clamp compressing the spring until it is reassembled. Remove the spring, and now you can remove rebound lever, trigger, hammer, etc. Be careful you don't lose the tiny leaf spring that holds the cylinder catch on the trigger assy. It is not clearly shown in the illustration above.
