Disassembling and Oiling of Rimfire Rifle

This may help especially cleaning the bolt and lightly lubing it and the trigger area
Oil inside a 64 action for storage/rustproof only. If there's oil there while in use, they gum up very quickly. I run mine completely dry, some folks have reported success with dry lubes.
To really enjoy a 64 get used to take down n' clean every 500-1000 rds. I have had luck just hosing the action with brake cleaner, while hand cycling 'til it flows clear, but it's only to extend the deep clean.
Don't twist your barrel out of the action, a broken ejector is the reward. If the barrel seems stuck, it can be freed from the action using the bolt.

Dry firing a rimfire may not be good(opinions vary, as do rimfires...), but disassembling stuff under spring tension is worse. Whether the striker is back or not, it will let loose as soon as the trigger group is removed. For comfort you could first lock the bolt open with the charging handle, remove barrel then ease the bolt ahead by hand.
