Do any of you know where I can find a schematic or disassembly info for a old style BLR?
I’ve got a busted one here and I’d like to take it apart to see what parts it needs.

Taking it apart is easy - drive out the pins and remove the parts. Putting it back together and getting it in time so it doesn't misfire is a little tricky. If you have the Brownells Gunsmith Kinks books, they published a trick I sent in on how to do this.

The biggest parts supplier (Western Gun Parts in Edmonton) sell a fairly comprehensive parts manual for about $35 I think.

I think you would be farther ahead to let a smith familiar with BLR's to inspect and fix it.

Thanks Guntech I apreciate the reply.
I have heard that the timing is pretty tricky on these things. The thing is this one is in rough shape. I think it spent most of it's life banging around in a kamotik. The previous owner left a spent casing in it for a season and broke a gear or something trying to extract it. Now the quistion is how much money do I want to put into this thing? Probably not much more than a hundred bucks or so and shipping from Iqaluit here could eat up most of that. Thats why I thought I'd take a crack at fixing it myself.

There has been a guy selling BLR factory manuals on ebay for a bit, don't know if he's still there.
I had one, can't find it now. It's not hard to do, but, as guntech says, timing is critical. Pins drive out only one way too as I remember, I think left to right, but I wouldn't swear to it.
