Anyone use them?

What model and what’s your experience?

Seems an affordable way to try out different scope types without breaking the bank.

I have their HT 4-16x40 FFP 30mm. Bought direct from Discovery for $89.99 USD delivered with rings, throw lever, sunshade, scope caps. And a full warranty apparently.

So far I’ve been impressed with the quality for the price - much better build quality than I expected - but only had a couple of months. Rings weren’t great, but everything else seems pretty solid.

Would be interested in others experience with their various models..
 
I had one of the VT 4-16 30mm it was fine till about 12x but after that it was grainy and distorted around the edges. But wasn't a fan of the FFP. Esp as a fixed range gun.

Don’t suppose you chased them up for warranty on that? Mine seems fine from 4-16, although eye box is maybe not the most forgiving..

What don’t you like about FFP for your purposes?
 
Following interested to know more about them. They look great and the price is definitely good! I'm tempted by the 1-6x24

No because that something I noticed with alot of cheap optics. Ohhunt, UTG, Tasco. Even my 6-32x42 Tasco 32x is bad after 20x.

Because shoot fixed ranges ( 25, 50, 75, 100 ) 16x large reticle covered too much of the target.

I ended up going with a Athlon Neos 4-12.. I prefer SFP.
 
I have a few. Great for the price. I have a older 3-18 on a 308 has held up no problem. Think I payed $120 a bunch of years ago for it. The glass is as good maybe better than my Athlon Midas Tac 5-25×56. I also have their LPVO 1-8 Eye box gets tight at 8 but for the price is really good.

I have a couple of their 1-8x LPVOs mounted on my (now prohibited) black rifles. I quite like them as compared to the Arken EP8, and the Discovery scopes are available at a lesser price-point. I prefer the conventional Discovery reticle over the Arken "Kill-Box" for casual range work, and appreciate the Discovery's locking Turrets which are well executed. All things cosidered, I have found that the Discovery scopes offer acceptable performance at a bargain-basement price point. They offer exceptional value for your (ever shrinking) Dollar.....

The value is definitely there by the sound of it. I tempted to try one on my air rifle honestly!
 
I have a bunch of them. Older 3-15 ED and the newer gen 2. 5-25 PRs ED, 5-40 LRS ED and a few of the AR 1-8 ED ( LPVO) .

I only recommend the ED glass versions. Very good scopes at a great price point.

I will say that for a more tactical rifle that I prefers the Arken EP5 or DNT. They look more tactical and are shorter. However Behind the scope they are very similar. Before the Arken price drop, the Discovery ED PRS was a fantastic deal. But after the price drop to $680 for the Arken I would recommend the Arken. The discovery is still cheaper but I like the Arken EP5 a bit more.

The one caveat is if ising on a rimfire or PCP airgun. The Discovery parralax goes lower and works better at short rimfire distances like target shooting indoors at 10 or 20m.

Do yourself a favour and only look at the ED glass scopes. They are the high quality ones.

I have the older 3–15 ED on my Airforce Condor. The older version used mils and had lock turrets ( pull up to use). Glass is good and I liked the reticle.

The newest version gen2 3-15 ED is in moa 1/8. It’s decent as well and frankly better for most using an airgun for target work. 50bmg rated if I recall but not sure if they are spring gun rated or not. Probably. Doesn’t matter with a PCP.

Thank you for your comment, much appreciated. Yes I was originally looking at them for a PCC but I'm thinking about getting one for a PCP, it's just a 22 not like yours! One day though, I'll get one of those! I'm a big fan of air rifle because you get to shoot for cheap, it's quiet so I don't have to go to the range. They went a long from the Daisy back in the days. I'll check those ED's, cheers!

How are they on 1x magnification - relatively true?

I’ve only had a lower end Vortex lpvo and the 1x setting was like looking into a fishbowl.
 
I just took another look through one of my Discovery 1-8x LVPOs set on 1x. The image seems to be slightly magnified, but not by much. There is no discernable "Fish Bowl" effect, but there is a slight bit of blurring right at the very edges of the Field of View (FOV). Then again, that could be me looking through my progressive eyeglass lenses... In any case, the Discovery's 1x image is certainly usable and for the most part true. It is just that the edge to edge clarity suffers a bit right at the extremes of the FOV and things appear slightly larger in the 1x window than tney do with the naked eye.

The Discovery LVPO definitely punches well above its price-point, so no worries in that regard. You will definitely get more than your money's worth with that particular optic. I cannot speak to Discovery's higher magnification optics, however if they compare favourably to the Arken EP5 or SH4, then they are similarly good to go for the $$.

I just looked at mine and at 1x the image is slightly smaller. I think it depends on diopter adjustment.
