Dishwasher m14 warning.

First of all, where do I send the flowers?
And secondly I had a buddy who used to clean his FN in the shower.
He always got an Attaboy at inspection.

I wish I had a dishwasher available to me in basic. I would have save me the trouble of taking my M16A1 into the shower.

At least they're not using the drying cycle to dry the damned things :D:D:D:D

A little Varsol wash and warm soapy water to clean all the carbon out of the C-6 and C-9 works every time, dry it, use an air compressor and oil her up. But a Dishwasher!?! must be a FNG Gun owner if you ask me.

Oh god, this thread is still here? Classic.

it will never go away LOL
just to add to the mess...... I put another very worn vintage USGI wood stock thru the pots n pans cycle with some high quality grease removing suds ....... amazing :D
letting her dry fully in the curing oven for a few days and will give her one more cycle thru the dish washer to further draw the dings, oils and crap out of the wood. she's gonna look like new when I'm done with the tung oil .

Yup: I can't believe this thread is still going. I remember it when I joined CGN over four years ago. Even a bit of a "noob" back then I wasn't that stupid.

I do wonder if a separate dedicated bowl for the case cleaner with a hint of parts wash fluid would get some small parts clean.

Hey, I did that with a Chu wood stock. Three passes thru the pots n pans cycle. It did a bang up job of sweating out the cosmoline.

I have to admit..... I used someone else's dish washer tho.

The whole dishwasher thing isn't as absurd as it sounds. I knew two fellas that use to dishwasher their stainless C&B BP pistols on a regular basis.

I'd be neutered if I was caught putting M14 stocks and simple green in the stainless LG. I have sympathy for the poor guy that did it but at least it wasn't an LRB.
