Dishwasher m14 warning.

I have washed numerous Garand receivers, greasy parts and stocks in my Kenmore Elite. Never any problems. Pots and pans setting,turbo zone and no heated dry cycle. 2 Cascade pods and good to go. After the machine has stopped I remove right away and towel of any damp spots. sandblast after cleaning and then into the parkerizing bath. Never have I encountered any rusting or other discolouration of the metal parts and most stocks get many of the minor scrapes and bruises removed/raised as well.

A little different, but I've taken one particular rifle into the shower with me every night for almost 2 weeks straight once lol...won't get into details, but it was very dirty every day. Long story short, with a bit of love there was zero rust, and looked brand new every morning hahaha.

You have to know what your doing looks like he turned the heat off and forgot about it in there it wouldn't happen otherwise it would be no different then washing car parts in the jet washer at work regardless of what the general thought is on here.

My friend got his 305 today and decided to try the whole gun in the dishwasher thing and it didn’t turn out so well he put it in on the pots and pans setting and pulled it out right after it was done and this is the result.

I used a bottle of simple green and then some brake clean followed by a rag with some gun cleaner finally a little gun oil on a rag and I was very happy with the results I know there are people on here that have had success with the dishwasher but just be aware that it might cause some harm I’d hate to see more people having this problem.

The corrosion of iron is an electrochemical process that is accelerated in the presence of steam.
Just because you read about it on the internet does not make it so...
FYI that's as bad as trying to recharge your cell phone in a microwave oven

This is not as crazy as it appears.

I prepped a Chu wood stock for refinish via three rounds thru the P&P cycle. Worked great!

I know of two individuals that clean their C&B revolver in a dishwasher.
