Dishwasher m14 warning.

Well I did my stock in the dishwasher the same day my buddy did this to his rifle and my stock held up fine lol. Iv bugged him a few times to bring it over so I could get some good now and then pics. Maybe I will bug him next time I'm down and update this a bit.

Well you guys are in luck. I sent him a text asking for some pics and here they are. Warning this will be rather disappointing to most. The gun was cleaned up and oiled and it looks like this.

Boo! How dare you ruin this epic thread with those pics.

Glad it turned out ok. He obviously learned a valuably, if embarrassing, lesson.

9yrs and still one of the best threads on CGN.

my god you guys LOL this whole thread should be enshrined

what initially was a fantastic method for stripping the chu wood stocks in the garage with a beat up old dishwasher and degreaser....... morphed into some guy doing it with his whole rifle LOL
it does work exceptionally well to steam out the dents/dings, oils and crud from old rifle stocks of all sorts but it's no longer a dishwasher at that point haha

I never imagined I would see the rifle AFTER that.....minor lapse of judgement ;)
Thanks for sharing.

It is a little disappointing though. Like finishing a book that you wished had a couple more pages :)

Just for bubba or ..... take note, you can't dry firecrackers in the microwave. No, I didn't do it but I know someone that did. They didn't explode but the stink was difficult to get out of the microwave. Matter of fact, it stunk up the house pretty bad.
