I bought new stock for my No 4 Lee Enfield 4MK1 and wondering about getting stock off. seems that maybe pins on the side hold it in place. Is that right? Wondering how to get stock off. It was already sportirized before I got it. thanks in advance

The butt stock is held in place by a bolt. The slotted bolt may be acessed through the butt plate. The forestock is held in place by the front and rear trigger guard screws. Go here: http://www.surplusrifle.com/no4/rifledisassembly/index.asp

"...through the butt plate..." With a 12" screwdriver. There may be a felt or leather pad in there too. A stiff wire with a hook gets it out.
The pins are just reinforcements.

Ordered a ATI stock and forarm. What are the chances it will bolt right on to my rifle. Says it is for a number 4 rifle. I have a No 4 Lee Enfield 4MK1

Just clean up the seams a bit. There's a good chance the butt stock will bolt on with little or no messing about. The forestock can be a little trickier and may need a bit of tweeking with small files, a dremel (soyez prudent!), and /or a sharp pocket knife. I put one of ATI's camo stocks on an Enfield a while back, and have since given it away to a family member. As I recall, it wasn't a lot of trouble... of course, I didn't do any bedding, nor did I sight it in with the scope I stuck on it, so there could be considerable work to do yet.
