disposal of loaded ammo

and you cant be too careful.

Yes you can. As soon as your care outweighs the benefit, you're too careful.

Do you wear a helmet when driving to work? Have a roll cage in the car? Home sprinkler fire suppression system automatically triggered by heat or smoke? Do you wear a class IIIA ballistic vest with chest and back hard plates while shooting (in case someone accidentally lights one off in your direction)? Why not? Because the cost outweighs the savings.

Pullers are demonstrated to be perfectly safe. Wear your eyes just in case, and don't put any part of your body directly above the round, and bang away.

The 'dud bin' does not get magically emptied by fairies. Some volunteer has to take your rounds apart.

Take them apart yourself with a kinetic puller if it's only a few rounds. Otherwise a collet puller.

No fairies? Really?

The volunteer guy would be me (on several occasions) and no, we don't pull the cartridges apart. The "duds" get to take a multi-year diesel bath to render them inert.
