Now this may sound pretty funny to most hunters. But I live in a semi rural area. I have garbage and compost pick up. I have a tiny green bin for meat and kitchen scraps. So when I butchered a deer a few days ago I did the responsible thing and called up the works department and asked if it was ok to put the hide, bones and scraps out in the green bin or near the green bin for the stuff that wouldn't fit for pick up on my usual day.
Well you would have thought I was asking to dispose of nuclear waste. The person was perplexed. Geez, I'd never heard of that before. I don't know what to say. Let me call you back after I find out. Well a half hour later she called back and told me to take it to the neareast waste transfer station. So I did, because I also had some other stuff to dump (fortunately). So being the "green" person I was when I got to the transfer station and being the responsible person I am (or possibly stupid) I told them what I had to dispose . Well when I told them I had some hide and scraps I was advised that they DON'T accept that type of waste. Of course telling them that I was advised by their department to bring it there accomplished nothing. Yes I know I could have kept my mouth shut and just dumped it with all my garbage. No one would have known who dumped it.
So I came back home with the hide and scraps...yes I thought of dumping the stuff on the side of the road but just couldn't get myself to do it because ...what if it was my property....you know...how would I feel.
So after you rural guys get up off the floor from laughing so hard...this is just a little reminder of what us law abiding city type folks have to deal with.
Anybody need a buckskin with a 12 GA hole in it?
Thanks for reading LOL
