DIsposing of primers

Hi all

I am fairly new to reloading I have been reloading rifle calibres for about 5 years or so.
After depriming cases the spent primers accumulate in the tube at the bottom of my lee single stage press, once the tube is full I have been emptying it into a mason jar with a tight lid for disposal, now it's almost full I am trying to figure out what to do with them.
I would prefer not to throw them into the landfill, is there some other way to dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way?

Any help would be appreciated.

So over the last 5 years you have put what 50lbs or more? of lead and copper projectiles into a backstop or spread it out all over the county. Now your worried about being enviromentally friendly with a pound of spent primers going to a landfill:p

I just throw them in a garbage can.

:D good point. I would keep em for now and when you have enough take them to a metal recycling place and get yourself a coffee.
 
Somebody once said he kept a coffee can of them in his trunk - perfect grit for getting going on an icy day.

They are brass. Same brass as scrap cases.

Take 'em to a scrap metal yard and get a few dollars. It's a shame to waste them by putting in the landfill.
 
most of them end up in my shop vac, and get dumped into the garbage eventually. Still, I have about a gallon in a plastic pail somewhere. I guess I'll have to figure out what to do with them some day; haven't given it much thought
