Dissabling Firearms for training courses in Canada.

Are there any discussions about disabling firearms for use in training classes? I am an instructor and have disabled a few rifles and pistols, and would like to start a discussion for disabling a variety of different firearms & actions. Right now I have a Colt New Service in .45 Eley/.45 LC, and it appears the firing pin rocks on a small pin. However, it must be polished so fine I cannot see the pin in the side of the hammer! Anyone in the know how to take this one out? I would even like to make some videos of doing this for different firearms.
