Wrong - Korth is not just a repair center - Korth is the exclusive licensed distributor/wholesaler of Leupold products in Canada. They make $$ on every Leupold product that enters Canada through proper channels, including your broken binos - because they sold it to the retailer. Korth is the reason that Leupold costs double in Canada. Part of their licensing agreement with Leupold is that they provide warranty service - for which they are reimbursed from Leupold.
It's too bad Leupold couldn't find a better distributor for their products. Leupold warranty in Canada is not to the same standard as Leupold warranty in the USA. Like you, people will pay a premium for Leupold because of the perception that the warranty and service is superior. That's no longer true in Canada, and you might just as well buy Bushnell.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know all of that.
To be honest I haven't had any problems with anything Bushnell that I have ever owned. It's just Leupold is always so built up for their warranty, quality, etc that I go to them first. However, next scope ill probably try Vortex or go with Bushnell again. I'm big on strong warrantied products, though, so it'll likely be Vortex.
