get rid of the pistol grip
get panles for thoses rail
get rig of the extended charging handel they are a misfuction waiting to hapen
get a flash hider, optics and sling

ps: thoses would be my recomandation obviously your gun, your choises...

I like it the way it is,my only quam would be it just needs an optic to finish it

a useful barrel length, good components and it's user friendly by the looks of it.
Nice rig!

Range guns do not need to resemble war rigs guys, too many of you forget that.
I've owned a dissaptor and without a vert grip to make handling easier, they are front heavy pigs

Gentelmen thank you for your comments.

Esquif:

Do you know what a levang linear compensator is??

Further are you a Left hand shooter?? Im guessing not, because if you were, and had used one, you would have a better appreciation for the latch.
As for the grip, have you ever used a UPG16??. Its actually quite flexible and is the Israeli version of the MIAD. Pretty sure they know a thing or two about making a AR grip.

My project is nearing compleation and will post some finalize pic's when I have a moment.

Paul:

LOL!!:D

I would probably be more inclined to buy one of these if it didnt have that carbine length gas system.

Testing has proven the rifles to be less prone to stoppages than the carbines, and that is due to the more violent cycling on the shorter system.

Why they would go through such lengths to avoid using the superior system is beyond me. And its not like you could just get the correct gas tube because they went and drilled the port for you.

It would be better to by a nice match grade A1 and chop the barrel, IMHO

Baby Seal:

For what its worth, this one is special, and has a rifle length gas tube system, and part of the reason I went with the a Levang comp.

Barrel looked like this:

VERY NICE.

I will take Vang Comp over Wilson combat anyday.

And man! Love that full length bull profile.

Could be quite the sleeper.

Stock handguards, everything, with that barrel. I bet you can do better than 4" at 400 with that if you use some glass. Imagine the surprise on some people's faces.

Do you shoot service rifle?

this thread lives! Nice to see it up again.

Thats quite a nice barrel profile indeed rich, I really dont like that pistol grip though....toss it!

heres my dissy (finished it a while back actually)...nothing fancy but I like it simple:

I basically wanted an m16 style rifle without the mile long barrel :D

Adam:

I really like you build there bud. How do you like that Acog??

What the hell is wrong with that grip?? Your trying to get me to take one of those MIAD Full grip kits out of my parts bin aren't you.

Babyseal:

Im not a service rifle shooter yet, but I do have a standing invite. What I was trying to build here will not be for everyone. What I wanted was a precision carbine, something that could walk both sides of the line, an be used both for CQB shooting and long distance, or to 600 yards anyways. To that end I have 2 sets of glass for it, and will share more details when I have further pictures

BigMatty:

Your comments are very apprporiate. One of the optics I have is an IOR 4x24 M2 with MP9 reticle, that I hope to use in an A.R.M.S.® #35QD™ Throw Lever® Mount, the other a Leupold Var X-III 4.5-14x50mm with a 30mm tube, side focus, and mil-dot in an American Defense recon QD mount. Man AD puts out a great product, Larue better watch out!!

What scope caps did you end up using, I would like to get a set
