Divers and Mallard Decoys

They may, but they are more likely to decoy to there own kind. Scout the location and find a spot where there are a few mallards still around and set up there also put out a few geese dekes aswel, divers decoys to geese somewhat well.

You can always paint a few of them to look like divers. We did a bunch of mallard decoys black and white to look like Bluebills and it worked like a charm.

Have shot plenty of bluebills over mallard deeks through the years. We don't even bother with bluebill decoys anymore, just toss out a couple dozen mallard blocks and tie into them. Redheads seem to be just as unconcerned... canvas are a different story though.

I have alway wondered if all the detail in decoys is really needed. Several years ago I got invited to a field shoot for mallards and my host brought along a whole bunch or folded tar paper. We had a fantastic shoot.
