DIY checkmaker

I am sick and tired of Pat Marlins check maker. makes decent checks but it is a two stage process. Not bad if you are not making a lot.

Today i ordered my thread cutting tooling and am going to try to make my own check making tool, Freechex III

I'll post pics as it comes along.....if it doesnt turn out I will just buy a Freechex III

Freechecks work great! I don't need big volumes, but just spend the occasional evening in my hunting lair, with wild tv playing in the background. Its a nice relaxing routine/procedure. They make good checks as well.

I was thinking about getting a free chex. But I shoot by the 100 rounds at a time and seemed like one more step. I just ordered a 5 cav rifle mold so i ll spend less time casting. (Or just have 2.5x more projectiles lol)

what exactly is a "check maker" if you don't mind me asking? I'm still green to most of you guys.

makes a gas check for a lead bullet. goes on the end of the bullet to prevent leading of the barrel.

At one time I tried selling my grease nipples at cost because people couldn't find them up here, but got spanked by the "man" for not paying him his $1000.00

Material to make one costs about $1.50.

Must be a setting on your computer because I can see it on my laptop and on my phone.

Well got the main body done but can't part it off until I figure out a way to cut the slits where the aluminum goes in. Trying to figure out how to attach my dremmel to the tool post.

What was it you didn't like about the Pat Marlin check maker? Was it difficult to use or was it the results?

BTW a dremel attaches with a 3/4"-10NC thread.
A mandril designed for a die grinder that carries cut off disks mounted in a mill drill or drill press could also work

Nice! I wish I had the tools to make one, that is a slick tool.
