DIY drop tube?

I remember seeing a length of purple-painted tube at my father's reloading bench. It was a small diameter piece once welded in a bicycle frame. From memory, one of the rear wheel diagonal supports. Nothing inside and a good fit on the mouth of the powder measure.

Most people feel that drop tubes have to be straight.

Not so.

Mine has a slight "S" shape and seems to work better than a straight tube.

It's very easy to make one of these.

I cut a 30cm long piece of 5/16 copper tubing and flared one end just enough so that I could use one of the short plastic adapters that fits the bottom of my RCBS powder dispenser to hold it against the outlet. Then flared the other end to fit over most of the case mouths I reload.

I also made up another of the same shape and length, then glued it into the bottom of a small aluminum funnel from the local hardware store.

Total cost of both units together is under $10.
