I am wanting to paint the stock on my rifle, it is a rem700ltr with the HS precision stock it comes with.

I am wanting to paint it a different color than black, likely a dark green.

Is there a kit or a specific paint, or even service that I can use that will both allow me to choose my own colour other than the basic olive drab, etc, as well as create a flat finish with no shine?

I want to make it a green that is similar to pine or cedar green.

Believe it or not....tremclad matte. Scuff the surface with 320 grit garnet paper, wipe down with alcohol, and spray 6-10 light coats (as in, can still see the original black for the first 5) Allow to cure in a warm area with a fan blowing for a minimum of two days. If you want more durability, follow that with 4 coats of matte clear laquer, when dry wet sand with 600 automotive paper. The resulting finish will be a dull matte.
