I saw a thread a while ago where someone went to an optometrist and cut a lens for their scope to make a DIY I.O.T.A. I searched and searched just now and cant seem to find it again. Does anyone know the "prescription" you would cut a lens to to make one?

Thanks!

I remember reading that thread as well but can’t seem to find it.
I went to an optometrist and just asked for there cheapest uncut lens i believe it’s an -.5 diopter.( I’ll check when I get home, cost $50) it’s made of plastic so I took my scope cap off and used a belt sander to sand it to size. Works good, just have to get the distance to your target exactly right or you will have pretty bad eye strain.

Did you put electrical tape around the edges of the lens to reduce the light intake? I remember that was part of the instructions and may help with the eye strain.... I really wish that thread was still up, it was so informative!
