Just stretch a white kitchen garbage bag over cardboard and paint it with black spray paint. The bag will react to the paint and wrinkle, but it'll tighten up again when it dries.

Here's a 300 yard .22LR test target:

Made spotting the hits really easy!

I guess white paint on black bag works too ?

I noticed recently that when using iron sights, I seem to shoot more accurately when the target is white (on a black ground) instead of black (on a white background).

I guess it makes sense because the iron front sight post is black/dark, so when the target is white the front sight post is more visible.

That's exactly what we need for sighting in at the matches! I'll be coming to the range in a few weeks with my brother and a friend, and I'll try making some of those up for the trip. Exactly what spraypaint brand did you use?

I have read that you can buy white styrofoam with a thin glossy plastic surface layer that will work the same way and of course just spray it again to renew it. 4x8 is okay for 1000yd. I have not looked for this yet and the idea was from the USA so it may not exist here.
