Dlask 12.5" and 14" Barrel Owners; anyone have a tight fitting locking block? (FIXED)

I just got my barrel today... Beautiful.

However, it seems that the cut for the locking block (the sloped portion) is a little too shallow. When I rack the slide forward it doesn't lock unless I use superman strength... then it remains locked shut unless I use he-man strength. To verify this is the problem I put tape inside the stock barrels cut to mimic the problem - BINGO - exact same symptoms.

I also noticed that after a few "shucks" there was a nice shiny wear mark in that area indicating to me that it is definitely binding there.

I broke out the files thinking I could remedy it myself (I really had my heart set on shooting tonight) but, no good... I managed to improve it a little, but still too tight. Fortunately I talked myself out of trying to fix it with a dremel (what a mistake that would have been) and have now resided myself to just going back to Dlask in the morning :( I hope I don't have to wait too long for it to get fixed.

Otherwise I am very happy with the barrel... I got the choke option and the chokes fit perfectly. The bore is shiny smooth. The stamping, sights, finish are all great.

Everything is snug fitting and all measurements (aside from the above problem) are identical to the factory Remington barrel.

I am going to post some pics when it's all complete... I just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this minor fitting problem? Ugh, it's just my luck though.. this kind of thing always happens to me regardless of what I buy or do. If something can go wrong, it will.

~Cheers

Actually, I'd have to say that blame falls on Remington here... I assumed all Remington 870's would be identical in specs, but, they are not.

Had I known this I'd have probably got the Norinco clone with Dlask barrel.

Anyway, I showed up at Dlask this morning with shotgun and barrel. Jo showed me another 870 and sure enough the barrel dropped in and worked like a charm. He told me that it does happen from time to time (fit issues), but it is rare; the variances in the 870 tolerances obviously vary - having seen it with my own eyes I can confirm.

Either way, Jo fixed the problem (fitted it while I waited) and offered to re-park it for free (but I'd have to wait a week or two). I told him thanks, I'll take a rain check on the refinishing or just paint it myself (Armacoat)... I really just wanted to shoot it :D

So yeah, barrel fits perfectly now. No hassle at all. I am very satisfied. I'm going to post pics in a weeks time (I want to do a few more things to it :p)

I just installed a Dlask 12.5" on my Wingmaster. It fit perfectly, I've had no problems cycling. Can't wait to try it out. :)

I believe they are the same price:
$300 for barrel
$90 if you want to have the barrel fit for Remington chokes
(I did this as I wanted to try a few games of trap :))

It might seem expensive at first, but really, can you put a price on a legal 12.5", non-restricted shotgun? :D The 18" barrel makes the 870 look like a trap gun when compared ...LOL!!

*edit* I live close to DLASK so I don't know about shipping charges, etc.
