Hi all,

Does anyone here own or have any experience with the Dlask 1911 pistols? If one were to use the price of these handguns as a benchmark, one would think they are quality pistols, comparable to some of the best known American 1911 clones. Let me know what you think.

Thanks
Mike

All of the Dlask pistols I've handled (a half dozen or so) have been excellent in fit, finish and accuracy, and were very reliable. Nice stuff, and good quality work -checkering, fitting etc.

9mm & 45

I have a 9mm and 45 ACP 1911A1 from Dlask. They were both very tight to start with and took a lot of work to break in. The 9 has about 8000 rounds through it now and functions flawlessly. The 45 with just under 1000 rounds is just starting to loosen up enough to work for about 100 rounds without cleaning. Both very accurate and well made.

............works well up to 100rds without cleaning :nest:

Any pistol should be able to shoot 1000+ rds before cleaning.

I have built two 1911's on the Dlask frame. The frames are great. I have also handled a 45 DLASK built unit, I was impressed. I try to support Canadian manufacturers whenever I can.

Now that the US is closing it's borders to us, we will need our Canadian mfrs. more than ever.

I own a Dlask "custom 1911" in all stainless steel (the first such gun ever made by Joe Dlask) and .45 ACP, which was built to custom specs (it is pictured in my avatar).

Think of it as an exotic - like in the car world. Some say they can be temperamental, although my experience has been A-1. The quality, hand fit and finishing etc. are over the top. Scores some serious range cred, for sure and shoots like a laser beam.

I don't buy guns often, but when I do I make it count. In the pistol sport, you CAN own some of the best in the world without totally breaking the bank.

And it's made in Canada too!

If you visit, leave the credit card at home - you WILL be poor when you leave if you take it with you. You'll have lots of toys, sure, but your wife will have you living in the crawl space. :D

......but only if it is a Glock:nest:

I don't like plastic guns with a slide as wide as a 2x4, no matter how dependable it is. Give me sleek and all steel, any day. Aswell, as Thor74 stated, it's made in Canada; therefore, I'm supporting a Canadian manufacturer, which we shoud have way more of, to reduce our dependency on the states. Not that you could get anything delivered here, if you did want it or need it.
