So I've been looking for a 1911 and see a nice looking Dlask on EE.

Are these good guns?

I know Dlask has a good rep as a pistol smith, and I'm wondering if he does like Armco and make these from Norcs? or are they Caspian or something similar?

Well....why don't you PM the seller on the EE???

Or if you what an overview of the Dlask 1911's you could always contact Dlasks via phone or email.

Direct is better than second or third hand opinion. ;)

Dlask has a great reputation when building and tuning 1911's. He set up my Norinco 1911 for competition and I am very pleased with his efforts. I am convinced if he lived south of the 49th you would be reading about him in Gun rags.

Take Care

I read on 1911forums I believe where people were discussing 1911 smiths, his name came up and even a lot of the US members were singing his praises. I'd be interested to hear if someone knows more about his home-brewed pistols without calling him up to bother him during a work day.

Lol....yeah right.... :D

That's a good one.

Anyone who couldn't be bothered to answer a few questions about his products would not be seeing any of my $$$$$$

It's not a 1911, but I ordered dlask rails for my sr22 and they are fantastic - I am very picky and you can't even tell that its not factory, perfect anodizing match to my receiver and stock rail, as well as shape...

i wouldnt worry about bothering him, ive called him after buying a 10/22 barrel which had some problems with certain ammo. he spent about 20mins with me on the phone explaining which ammo i should use and if i still had problem i could sent the entire gun to him to take a look at. he really stands behind his products and im sure you won;t be disappointed.

Enjoy the DLASK 8.5" 870... great peice...

How ever if your looking for quality 1911 i would say KIMBER.... bar none.

I have a custom II.... if only i didnt have to feed it, it would be perfect.

Kimbers aren't in the same league as any of the Dlasks I've handled. Custom in this case really does mean so much more, even a 'basic' Dlask feels totally different. After all, they are hand fitted.
