Get ready...
It looks like Dlask is getting ready to start putting together some Dlask 6-1/2" 870's
They will be the same design essentially as the 8.5" ones, except that they will now include an all steel picatinny forend tube assembly where vertical foregrip will be attached.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I had a mag fed Grizzly 870 which I thought would be super-bad ass with a 6-1/2" barrel. So I asked if Jo would be willing to do a conversion.
Voila!
It's short!
For my project gun I had to do the following:
- Block the KNOXX stock in order to keep the OAL at 26-1/4"
- Always remove the stock in order to get access to the trigger group due to the magwell interfering.
- The vertical foregrip which will be on the DLASK 870's doesn't work well on the magazine setup for obvious reasons (again the damn magwell).
I plan on addressing the foregrip issue in the next few weeks. I think a 45degree offset would do the trick just fine (or just go STEN-style and have it on the left side).
But in the end I'm happy because I have a 6.5" 12guage shotgun with 5 in the mag and 1 in the tube (with an extra magazine in my back pocket
) and it looks like something Mad-Max would rock in a zombie infested post apocalyptic world.
