It looks like Dlask is getting ready to start putting together some Dlask 6-1/2" 870's :)

They will be the same design essentially as the 8.5" ones, except that they will now include an all steel picatinny forend tube assembly where vertical foregrip will be attached.

I had a mag fed Grizzly 870 which I thought would be super-bad ass with a 6-1/2" barrel. So I asked if Jo would be willing to do a conversion.

It's short!

For my project gun I had to do the following:
- Block the KNOXX stock in order to keep the OAL at 26-1/4" :runaway:
- Always remove the stock in order to get access to the trigger group due to the magwell interfering.
- The vertical foregrip which will be on the DLASK 870's doesn't work well on the magazine setup for obvious reasons (again the damn magwell).

I plan on addressing the foregrip issue in the next few weeks. I think a 45degree offset would do the trick just fine (or just go STEN-style and have it on the left side).

But in the end I'm happy because I have a 6.5" 12guage shotgun with 5 in the mag and 1 in the tube (with an extra magazine in my back pocket ;)) and it looks like something Mad-Max would rock in a zombie infested post apocalyptic world. :dancingbanana:

I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread....now I need one!

Dlask is doing what everyone else is running their mouth about and putting out some very neat kit. They get it done.

I wonder if he is going to offer these as a complete unit?? Anyone listening? PLEASE?:D
 
This barrel length was a well kept secret until today, was supposed to keep my mouth shut. Now it doesn't matter I suppose... publicity will only help. The new Dlask barrel options for their 6.5" are what make it truly cool... they're rolling out a 12.5" barrel with the ring/lug set back for the 6.5" mag tube, lets you put on a standard Remington +2 extension and have a normal 4+1 12.5" 870. Also making a barrel like this for the 8.5", that allows a +1, and there's talk about doing an 18.5" with rem choke tubes for both lengths. Joe and Doug are doing a great job. Not big on the grizzly mag fed conversion, as it looks cantankerous as all hell and awkward, but the 5+1 capacity is neat, I just like shotguns because of their clean lines and ease of carry and this negates those benefits. Still neat.
