Dlask 8.5 with folding stock: unrestricted?

Yes it will. I've never seen so much finger pointing and disinformation.

A folding stock is 100% illegal on a shotgun less than 26".

Really now looks like you are a part of the "disinformation squad" as well.........ever heard of a Franchi PA3? RESTRICTED only NOT ILLEGAL

I last saw one of those at Siteline around 1991. It belonged to a certain beloved pinoy electrician, and was fantastic for opening eyeballs and cutting sheets of cardboard in two.

His was imported and registered as restricted.

Thank you very much for your constructive comments.

His question specifically referred to adding a folding stock to an unrestricted Dlask 8.5" shotgun. This is absolutely, without a doubt, illegal. It turns it into a prohib, which will land your a** in jail. But thanks for sharing your thoughts and trying to confuse the issue.

This is the only "confusing" and wrong/false statement in this thread. I clarified it and you get your panties in a knot.....you make your statements like they are fact and they are going to get corrected if they are wrong welcome to CGN, lol.

Actually, my panties are fine thank you, completely knot free.

You're right though, my comments could be confusing to someone who doesn't take them in context, so I'll take the opportunity to clarify my original statement. Putting a folding stock on a non-restricted, pump action shotgun with a folded length less than 26 inches is illegal.

For everyone who's asking themselve I had the precision with Dlask: officially if you put the pistol grip it becomes restricted but the RCMP don't do anything by the moment. Everyone is waiting the court decision for the reclassification.

correct. folding stock = prohib. pistol grip = grey area.
If you ask me, as gray as some think, I see putting on a pistol grip on those shorties as completely illegal.

I'd love the court case to prove me wrong, but I don't see it happening. A lot of times they'll talk about the "spirit" or "intention" of the law. The intention was to make shotgun under 26" illegal.

I personally agree with you, however, some people around here will want to crucify you for wanting clarification on the issue.

the court case will happen as soon as the first person is charged. at which point that guy will be the one paying the lawyer bills.

My understanding of the law is:
Shotgun is non-restricted even if barrel length is less than 470mm as long as it came like that from the factory and overall length is 660mm or greater, or if overall length is less than 660mm for guns with folding stock but the gun CANNOT be fired in folded state.

The law actually says that if the overall length is decreased to under 660mm by folding or telescoping it's a no-no. So you're guaranteed to be in trouble if it folds or telescopes. If it does neither, you're in a gray area. Personally, I think they're gonna sink this one.
