Dlask 8" vs 12.5"

The contoured sporter profile 12.5" might be the OP's best choice for his given criteria.

I've been looking around but can't seem to find a picture of a Dlask contoured sporter barrel. Does anyone have a pic or URL they could share? Any idea how much weight a contoured sporter barrel would shave off?

Thanks everyone,
Cal.

im planning a range run tomorrow and im suppose to call my co-worker to come.
i have the 8 and he has the 12.5
we have different glass on them but ill try to remember to do a quick weigh in for ya before we go.

Hi WayUpNorth,

Did you happen to meet up with your co-worker? Any impressions on the weight difference/balance?

Thanks again,
Cal.

gun have the same stock, and optics.
green one has a 12" Dlask barrel with a metal Dlask thread protector, stock ruger receiver and trigger group.
blue one has 8.5" Dlask barrel with alm compensator, Timney Trigger and Dlask receiver.

your looking at 1/2lb difference.
with holding them both i find the 12" to be very front heavy.
i find my blue one to be better balanced.
i would be interested to see a 10" to see how the balance on it is.

Wow you said very front end heavy. Guess weight does matter. I wonder what youd say holding a 20"+ dlask barrel then?
Now we all know why you really like the short dlask barrels so much.
Your builds are simply awesome. Expensive but awesome. Just abit too heavy for kids to shoot offhand IMO. However Ive seen bipods in your pics. So Im guessing you use those most of the time anyway.

Get off it already buddy, barrels weigh what they weigh and if they're too much for you handle hit the gym. FYI no one with any knowledge of shooting would buy a 20 inch bull barrel to shoot off hand. You must but just trolling these forms at this point going on with this non-sense.

Ya I've got a 20+ inch dlask and it's way to heavy to shoot without a table or bench.

In all honesty we r talking 1/2 lb over 4 inches so it's not a make or break thing.
My daughters really like the shortness of the gun.

Wonderful. Thanks so much for doing this. I really appreciate it. It looks like after your muzzle brake is taken into consideration that your 8" + brake is very close in length to the 12.5" with thread protector.

Thanks again for doing this and for the great pics. Again, it is very much appreciated.

Thanks again everyone,
Cal.

sorry was on my iphone at work earlier.
here is a pick of my BIG Dlask for those wanting to discuss the longer barrel ones.

you can get any length of Dlask barrel and you wont go wrong, they are IMHO the best we have up here.
im kinda thinking that i might wanna get a 10" one, after having mine and my friends ones side by side last night the 10" seems like it would be a nice length.

Chems pleased to give you his amazing advise.
Hope you enjoy your build!

If you're going to be like that why even bother coming on CGN. When multiple people on this form have to repeatedly call you out on your misinformation perhaps you should stop spouting it and take their advice and learn something.

haha, i had to go and read the entire thread to see where all the arguing came from.

Littleairwolf likes to spread the word that dlask barrels are practically made out of depleted uranium. I'm not sure what he has against Dlask arms and their barrels but considering they're listed in the dealer network at the moment I'm sure they don't appreciate him trying to turn people away from them.
