Hey guys. Looking for some answers. Anyone have some experience with this brake? I put it on both my fsn's and it consistantly shoots 16-18" high everytime at 100yrds with considerably more recoil. The muzzel doesnt rise as much with it on but ya...whats up with that? I take the brake off and less recoil with 6" groups at 100yrds. Is this normal?

Yes. Sorry should have specified that.

I also have the slant brake on my 11.5" CSA 7.62x39.

When clocked to the right, as in the slant cut is facing to the right, the projectile will be high and to the right. This is do to the gas pushing against the projectile. My sights are quite high and quite far to the right for my zero position.

I noticed that clocked to the right, the rifle drops back right down onto target nicely and felt recoil is slightly less than without. Clocked to the center, the rifle would jump below the target and be slightly to the right as well has having a very uncomfortable sharp crack that could be felt through the stock. Recoil was slightly more than without the brake.

I had the opportunity to try a CZ 858 with the NR barrel with the slant brake clocked to the right and it had the same uncomfortable crack, more felt recoil and limited effect on muzzle position. So barrel length seems to have an effect on the performance of the brake.

In all honesty, the cz large factory brake is the best. I've tried the slant, same results, I've tried the flash hider type, the special forces brake (good but basically the same as the cz brake). Bottom line is for $50 you can't go wrong and it really helps with fast shooting. It's not to heavy either as far as brakes go.

Im honestly fine without a brake. I just liked the look of the slant brake. Anything to make my fsn's resemble an AK.

Corwin makes an AK brake that goes with the bayonet adapter set. It works well.

I have a YouTube video on it.

I'm currently playing with an AK slant and so far it's too much downward pressure with my 18.6" barrel
