For me it’s the customizability of the 870 platform. The amount of aftermarket out there is great, plus it’s a way smoother and less clunky gun to run. No hate on the KSG, but that’s why I’d probably take an 870
......Anyway, a short 12 on a sling with a side saddle is absolutely ideal. One shot as a warning, and 4 more as backup in case the animal doesn't take off. Light and convenient.
I'll take the KSG if I'm ever attacked by Russian assassins who killed my dog or something, but for trails, gimme the smallest legal sqhotgun possible.

The MCS 14inch and 18inch barrel with flush mounted tube extender... That would be where I put my money. I already have a 10inch Dlask (MCS cut), 12inch Dlask (normal), 14.5inch Dlask (normal).
