Dlask Arms Rem 870 Shorties Thread

What extension would the 16.2" be flush with? Would it meet OAL reqs with say the hogue pistol grip?

Thanks

Negative Ghost Rider, the magtube is full...

But seriously, if you have a 10" MCS clone then you could use either a +2 or +3. If you have the standard 4 round non-modified Remington mag tube then you could use a +1 or + 2 depending on the look you are going for. A +1 on a factory 4 round tube and a 14" barrel is flush which means a +2 on the same gun would have the mag protruding slightly (1/2"-3/4") past the muzzle. I don't have a 16.2" barrel here to put on a gun and show you in pictures, sorry.

Any chance of getting someone to make an MCS holster as the originals are nowhere to be seen in Canada ?

You know who would be good to ask for that, our friend Simon at S&J Hardware. He has a great line-up of soft goods like that. Momma always said it never hurts to ask....

Bill,

We don't normally thread these for chokes since you won't find many people trying to group the shot coming out. These are mainly used for defence which means it's slugs or buckshot being used. We do offer a Rem Choke threading service for our barrels, the cost is +$95.00 per barrel.

Great price to have a barrel Remchoked! The reamer and tap aren’t cheap from Brownell’s and a lathe helps to. Also it’s being done by a pro ;)

So again I ask, what choke do they come with? particularly the 16? standard CYL?

A buddy of mine and I did a patterning experiment with buckshot and barrel length and chokes. We ended up with 7 or 8 brands of buckshot and 6 barrel/choke combos from 10 to 26".
A significant leader in the tight pattern category was the 20" IMP CYL with the Fed Flight Control buck in both 2 3/4 and 3".
Maybe not ideal for defence but great for deer hunting.
We didn't have a 16" to test but the 18" CYL we had placed in the middle of the pack.
thx

You messing with me ? lol,

The 10" MCS clones and the stand alone 14" barrels are the clear winners so far. Both are fantastic, I like the way y'all think !
