can anyone give me their opinion on Dlask Arms especially their lower and upper AR parts if possible?
How well they interchange with other makes and overall craftmanship

There have been issues with tight magwells, and the fitting of lower parts kits from other manufacturers.

Their FF rail fore ends are not to consistent specs and have trouble fitting accessories.A few mambers here have tried the FF rail tubes and have ditched them for quality tubes.

Overall inconsistency doesn't give them a very good rep at this time.

SKBY.

dlask..... buyer beware, I think thier stripped lowers are fine now but as was said about anything with a rail on it including uppers they are not to proper spec.

and if you buy a stripped lower get them to complete it and install the lower parts kit for you.

Just like to add.... the only reason most people have been going dlask is because they where cheaper..... go buy a STAG arms instead, they are less expensive and they are top quality and all milspec.

I have one of the older ones with the white lettering.

The mag well is tight until you have used it enough to wear down the finish. The bolt stop pin was a real pain to get in even after grinding a taper to ease it in. The buffer detent hole had to be polished with a dremel bit to get it to fit.

The finish matches my DPMS upper perfectly and I had no problems fitting a DPMS trigger group and ACE stock. It works and looks good, but can be a pain getting it all in order.

I am still planing on buing a full Dlask AR when the time comes. The issues I have heard of relate all to the thickness of the coating.

I just think there is merit in buying local.

Yes, there is merit in buying local....but not at any cost. ;)

there is something to be said about having that MADE IN CANADA marking.... but it depends on what you want to do /w the gun... if you just want it to look cool and punch holes in paper Dlask will work, i have one of their lowers....

just be smart about what parts you get from them and what your intended purpose is....

having said that at least you are close by and if any parts are fubar'ed you can just go over and harrass joseph dlask...

good luck

if all you want is made in canada then buy an 80% lower and make your own.... by 2 and you and your buddy the machinist can build one each :)

thanks for the information, given what I have heard I think Ill stay away from Dlask right now. I am new to the AR enviroment so I dont want any hang ups with sticking parts and things not fitting correctly

Yes. Early models had thicker coating. They also didn't accept Thermold mags......but no big loss.

its funny....before the crash a good friend of my was driven off this board cause his Dlask was ####ed,(to tight)the mags they sold him where mismatched and used.....they charged his visa twice and it took three weeks to get his money back..and his rail was out of spec...

he still has the rifle....don't shoot it much..lol

but there where a few members who told him, Dlask was this and all that said he was lying..so he left...well it looks like Dlask made a few more duds and there getting out there...and too think I was going to buy there Rail for my SPR..lol
