Hey there, I'm looking to get a new barrel for my 10/22, but have read that I shouldn't use CCI ammo in dlask barrels because they fit too tight and can rupture. Is this true for all their barrels? The one I'm looking at buying is their 12.5" sporter bull barrel - not sure if that also has the bentz match type of chamber?

Ya ill call them in a bit (hopefully they answer, some people have said its hard contacting them these days!). The reason i ask is because someone is selling the one I am interested in, and it's a sporter barrel which I thought might be different...

You should be alright with the sporter barrel as it has the sporter chamber, I have the Extreme barrel & the chamber is very tight, if you stay with standard length cases the only problem you will have is extracting unfired rounds--in other words NO STINGERS.I have the DAR receiver, Dlask EXTREME 16.5 barrel & with a KIDD bolt it will ectract any unfired rounds no matter how hard it is to push in by hand.
The Dlask stuff is top Quality, you will be a happy camper:D

There is some confusion of the term "Sporter"... on the Dlask website... there are two common uses for the term "Sporter," both relate to barrels... there is the Sporter chamber and there is the Sporter contour... the Sporter chamber refers to a looser more generous chamber which will function with a wider range of ammunition... the Sporter contour refers to a lighter more tapered barrel profile... with Dlask barrels, they use "Sporter" to designate the larger chamber... they use "Xtreme" to designate their tighter match chamber (modified Bentz Match)... Dlask recommends Winchester, American Eagle and Federal match ammo in the Xtreme (but other match ammos will work; we have had good luck with Wolf MT and SK Standard Plus)... The Dlask Sporter chamber will function with most ammo's, including CCI SV, Green Tag and Mini-Mag's... but these will "sometimes" require a breakin period... our latest builds required a brick through them before they smoothed out in function with MM Solids. It should be noted that Dlask recommends against Velocitors or Stingers (and other Hyper velocity loads) in any of their chambers... there may also be problems with CCI Segmented. In our Xtreme chambers we stick with Wolf MT and CCI SV (which function perfectly after break-in and tuning)... In our DAR22 Sterling builds with the Sporter chamber we have had best accuracy and function with Mini-Mag solids.

Thanks for that information, I haven't been able to find reliable details like that anywhere online.
Dlask said they should have some sporter chamber 12.5" barrels in about two weeks... I'll be ordering then, got 500 rounds of cci minimag ready for it :)

mine is an extreme and shoots minimags no problem, but Blazers jam it up. Yes I was told not to do it but I had 3rds kicking in a ziplock. fired the first round then failed to fire and eject the second ... use my knife to pop it out. Live and learn.

Hey jt_trouble - I bought your old SR22 chassis from another forum member on here, here's how its looking these days :)
Looking forward to getting a 12.5" bull barrel on it... also waiting on some battledyne mags!
