I recently picked up from Dlask Arms a DAR 22 Sporter (not target rifle) to be used as my plinker & what not.
This rifle right off the bat is an amazing shooter.

For those of you wondering about the setup:
  • DAR 22 SPORTER WITH 16.5 INCH BULL BARREL, GREEN HOGUE STOCK, MAPLE LEAF CHARGING HANDLE
  • XB5 MUZZLE BRAKE
  • BUSHNELL ELITE 2.5-10x50 SCOPEWITH MULTI X RETICLE
  • UTG TACTICAL OP BIPOD

The rifle was sighted at 50 meters with CCI Minimag 36 GR & I shot various types of ammo to see how it fares. I shot it on two different targets, both sighted at 50 meters on different days.
Out of the group, it definitely seem to like CCI Blazer 40 gr & Federal 40 GR Copper Plated HV ammo the most.
The ammo it liked the least surprisingly was the Federal Bulk 36 GR HP.

All in all, this is an amazing rifle capable of much more in a well experienced hands. My hats off to DLASK for building such a beautiful rifle which felt perfect in every aspect.

make sure you put some locktight between the barrel threads and the XB5. i had mine start to come loose after a few hundred rounds. i was chasing it all over the place before i thought the check the break. it was on so tight originally i didnt think it would ever come lose.

Thx for the advise Margucci. However, Leigh of Dlask reminded me to put some Loctite on the muzzle thread & I haven't had any issue of it becoming loose so far.

it looks like you have some potential in the gun. looking at those groups with some extra practice they will tighten up. going with a proper front rest and rear bag will do wonders to take the human factor out too. then if you want to push it get some match ammo and give it a go when you feel confident. however, i doubt it will make too much of a difference with a sporter chamber. match ammo is really meant to be used in target chambers.

eley match is decent value for what it is. in my experience going to match eps is a lot of extra money for something you wont notice too much. and tenex is just insane....

Thanks. It not only looks good, but also very balanced & solid rifle. I really loved the idea that there is a hole drilled in the back of the receiver to allow one to insert a cleaning rod from the rear into the barrel. that definitely made the cleaning part more practical.

Nice rifle!
I love the look of a heavy 16"

its funny you should say that, when i built my 2 DAR's i thought the same, was cool to have that hole in the back for easy cleaning..... then that same week i switched over to bore snakes for all my guns so i never got to use the hole in the back.
but i would have given a lot to have had those holes in my guns 20 years ago when i was using rods to clean!

i dont bother using boresnakes. the most important thing to clean (for my gun anyways) isnt the barrel itself but the chamber, bolt face, extractor, and the front of the receiver. you cant really clean those properly with a boresnake. also, if you try and clean in the receiver there is a good chance that crud and cleaning solution is going to drop in your trigger pack. for most people it isnt too much of an issue. for those with $300+ trigger packs its something you really want to avoid.

of course you cant clean the receiver and such with a bore snake.... its a BOREsnake!
