Well after a month long wait I finally got my Glock 19 from Dlask. When I initially opened that box I was a little disappointed. The pistol and mag were there as promised but I guess my view on "good" condition was more optimistic then what I got. As well, the barrel was substantially longer than I expected (115mm). I also don't think they are very familiar with pinning Hi-Cap mags as my mag can only hold 8 rds. Some lessons I learned from the purchase - try to get pictures prior to purchase and definitely don't make assumptions. That being said -- I can't really complain. I got a threaded Lonewolf barrel and a Glock 19 with night sights. I have wanted one for a long time and it is nice to be finally able to own one. With the longer barrel I expect to get some decent groups but the trigger is horrid (NY1 spring). So I called up Jo at Police Ordnance and ordered up some parts. I am going to get a new trigger spring and extractor (I like the newer loaded chamber extractors) and whenever I can track one down I will get a 3.5lb connector. Here are some pics:

Pic 1: This is it with no thread covers on the bbl. It does look a bit odd with the barrel protruding but I am slowly getting used to it as it seems more intentional to have a longer threaded barrel as opposed to an unthreaded longer barrel.

Here is a pic of the G19 with threaded barrel cover on:

Finally here is the G19 from the cooler side:

I am sure someone will ask so I will say now. Yes, the slide is polished silver. It didn't come like this from Dlask. I got it last Monday and spent the last few days polishing the slide with a buffer. Before anyone freaks out on me for doing that - the only reason I did was the slide was originally heavily worn (finish wise) the rear of the slide was showing the gunmetal silvery color and oiling the slide did nothing to cover it up. So I decided that I would finish the job all over. I am considering sending it in for either refinishing or Chrome/Nickel Plating but it will depend on how the slide takes being stripped of the original phosphate finish. I expect the Tenifer finish to keep the slide from rusting but if anything starts to look funny I will just have to send it in for some work.

I have over 2400 rounds of 9mm to go out and practice - hopefully she will shoot better then she looks.

Smokinggunfx used to do hard chroming that looks cool on a Glock slide. You can always get the shorter still restricted black Lone Wolf barrel if you can't live with the looks.
I am amazed how well I can shoot my G19. I expected the recoil to be a little snappy being plastic but not at all.
Enjoy!

Personally, I'd get the barrel cut back [and recrowned] to the minimum legal length to still be 'restricted'... but then again I'm 12(6) so I'd just get a G19 without the stick-out barrel.

i recently bought a used glock 19 restricted from another cgn member who got it from dlask.

but mine has the blued, i believe glock barrel, and with my reading glasses on to check, it sticks out no more than 8mm, appears to be half that of yours.

the big visual problem is your stainless steel barrel which would really stand out against a blue frame. with you polishing the slide bright, that extended barrel shouldn't stand out that much.

i would agree with NAA about cutting barrel back to minimum length if you are going to keep it.

my dlask glock had a really good finish on the slide except for the odd spot, tried cold blue, then discovered that such was a wasted effort. slide as is was quite fine for me, and i left it alone

i don't like the thread protector in your picture, made the glock look like a potato gun.

mine came with the pinned high cap magazine, right on as to capacity, but the rivet on the back sticks out and frictions against the inner frame, and prevents it from being drop free like my factory 10 mags.

any advice out there on how else to pin or block the stupid thing?

other than looks, i'm sure you'll find it to your liking. just shoot the hell out of it, not that you can with a glock, and later upgrade to a final keeper if you want

still jealous of prproulx (and NAA) and their stock glock 19, while the rest of us suffer with the restricted versions. lol

Take a Dremel or file to the rivet and thin it down, that should help. The 106mm G19's are damn close to the real thing and look fine like that.

You can be jealous of me too. ;) I prefer the Gen 2 frame, especially on a compact like the 19:

Thanks for the responses... I do admit that I am not partial to the thread protector but as she is a range queen (or pauper I guess) she should do alright. I probably will only use it when I put the pistol in the safe. I don't think I can get the barrel cut and recrowned to the min barrel length. When I measured the barrel the 106mm portion is right on the threading (about 1/3 left until clean barrel) so I think I would be stuck with a barrel with 106mm long and 2mm of threading - would look even stupider I think. I have considered extending the threading back and maybe cut but I really don't know if this would actually take away from real world functionality. I know that I can't actually get a suppressor but it is kind of neat that my pistol can actually accept one. That being said if I could make the barrel 106 mm and have it really accept a suppressor I would get it cut, threaded, and crowned. I just don't want a barrel that isn't really either - a James Bondish threaded fuctional barrel or a matching G19 barrel. Nobody here has a factory threaded G19? I wouldn't mind seeing how long the barrel is supposed to be.
