Would you recommend these barrels? I haven't heard great things about Dlask recently, but I figured installing a 14.5" barrel from them on my armalite upper shouldn't be a problem... should it? Anyone have experience with these? Thanks.

Realistically, it might be your ONLY source for a 14.5" barrel. I don't think the US is allowing export anymore. Glad I got mine when I did!

That being said, with the amount of bad experiences on here with other Dlask AR parts... you might be better off buying a 16" and chopping it down.

The barrels are ####e...buy a 16.1" chrome bore and chamber barrel from Wolverine, Stag or a 14" from Questar. Dlask barrels are inconsistent, you may never really know what your chamber dimensions are and it is hit and miss on the use of straight pins or roll pins, the profiles are not correct either.

Most likely sparrow meant 'taper' pins.

Nope...we've seen roll pins holding on peoples Front Sight Bases on Dlask barrels, and a combination of roll and straight pins,he never taper pins as this is a difficult process. The roll pins are generally used when a smith or machinist fecks up the job and is not willing to start again with a new barrel...scarey #### but many will never know to question such work and many of my own customers will admit they were in too much of a rush to wait for a proper gun/parts and went for instant gratification...then they get mad at me when we give them the bad news.

The reason companies like RRA and Armalite don't taper pin is the difficulty involved and straight pinning saves barrels, if you screw up you can go to the next size straight pin, Armalite does a good job of this as the pins are very tight, infact we've only ever had one pin ever not want to stay put in the many rifles we've sold. Still I wish Armalite would taper pin their sights, in my eyes it would place them near the top of the heap for civvy ARs, (I put the verneer on their M4 profile barrels and it was slightly different too, not visible to the naked eye)

Years ago, before I knew better, Dlask roll pinned on a FSB onto their "M4" barrel I purchased from them. Thats right, roll pins.
After I purchased an Armalite M4 barrel from Hunters, I compared the two, and the Dlask is not even close. I also compared the Dlask to a M4 barrel drawing I have.
The Dlask was not even the right length, the cut-out was in the wrong place, and it was the heaviest diameter under the handguards of any barrel made on earth.
And the price was more than the Armalite to boot!

Ahab.

Ahab, I had forgotten about yours, there have been so many since then, those Armalite M4 barrels are great shooters out to 500m....

Where? I'm hunting around for a true 14.5" barrel/upper.

Didnt know that the Dlask M4 profile barrels were so off.

Are they 1/7 and how incorrect are they? Whats the going price for an Armalite or LMT barrel only? looking for another 14.5" M4 profile and I was thinking that Dlask was the only option locally.
