Do you guys know where to get the blue prints to modify a 1022 to fit a Tuff 22 mag?

Or can you post a picture of what the mag well looks like on one?
 
this does NOT have to be a tight fit, just has to clear. can cut it with a dremel in 5 min

meh.

if you really cant dremel a small notch and you destroy the receiver (not sure how this is possible) then use the opportunity and get yourself a tuff22 receiver
 
Mission accomplished.

It might have taken me 15 minutes with a Dremel and a file, including touch up paint job..

Thanks guys for your help.

I touched it up with semi gloss tremclad using a Q tip. Once the paint dries it will be hard to notice the irregularity.

i think the inside of the barrel hole in the receiver....

it doesnt matter much because you just grind it until it clears the mag. this does NOT have to be a tight fit

Yes, I measured from the outside diameter of the barrel on the inside of the receiver.

The .840 dimension is just below where the mag first starts to scratch the paint along the ramp in the front of the mag well. It appears Dlask designed it that way for a good reason.

If you dremel into that scratch, you probably went too far.

The real dimension is from the center axis of the barrel.

( .688 / 2 ) + .840 = 1.184 inch

So if your barrel is .920 in diameter, the notch should be at .724 from the barrel...

1.184 - ( .920 / 2 ) = .724 inch
 
The way the sketch is dimensioned doesnt make any sense. it should be dimensioned from the lowest part of the receiver so you know how deep to go with an end mill or dremel...

However it doesnt matter... cut this notch until it clears the tab on the mag by about 0.5mm or so.

Obviously dont cut into the barrel .... Folks are over analyzing this. Worst thing that can happen is that you end up with a new Tuff 22 receiver ....

Lowest part of the receiver is bare casting.
Dinensions of this area can vary.

I would start fron the machined reference, which is in this case, the barrel.

Maybe its because I’m a machinist and I like things precisely made.

The RCMP says modding 25 round 10/22 mags to 10 rounds will make them compliant with their interpretation.

“The Moncton fish & Game Association (MFGA) has just learned today, that ALL large capacity magazines (more than 10 rounds) for the Ruger 10/22 are now considered Prohibited Devices under the Firearms Act.

From what we have been told at the moment, these large capacity magazines will fit certain specific handguns (pistols) thereby creating a situation where the pistol capacity now exceeds the 10 round limit on handguns. Individuals, who for an example, have a Butler Creek 25 round magazine for their 10/22 must now have the magazine “pinned” to 10 rounds, leave the magazine at home, or turn it in for destruction by the RCMP.

It might help people to know the block in the front of the Dlask mag is about 0.225 below the front pin and about 0.492" wide. It protrudes forward about 0.252" from the front face of the mag.

Keep in mind you want a little clearance from that, so don't go size to size or you will have interference.

The slot just needs to clear that by a few thousandths per side.
