If you're referring to their new receiver that'll take proprietary magazines, then it's still under review by the rcmp lab. I forget the number, but what was supposed to be a 120 day turn around, was extended to basically "it'll be done when we feel like it"
Through no fault of dlask. They have a thread in their forums on it.
They certainly did. But it was just to tell us they have a new 'protocol' that is a 120 business day minimum before they have to say yay or nay to our FRT request. The minute we know anything we will post it hear and let you guys know. The 120 business days started on Oct. 3/17 so looking at my calendar and calculating in Stat holidays the due date will be : March 27, 2018.
We also have 2 more submissions for FRT numbers that will most likely be of interest to you guys but for now that is all I can say. Stay tuned, we will update the public here when we get more information.
The RCMP do not guarantee anything in regards to the lab. All they will say is at least a minimum of 120 business days. That's about 6-7 months, the Walther HK G36 .22LR took about 7 months.
UPDATE : I got an email this morning from the RCMP person handling our FRT request and were told it will be a few more days until there is an answer. I will keep you guys posted next week when I hear back.
The latest update from the SFSS is that they want a full 'Technical Data Package' and to see a sample rifle and magazine. Unreal. The last FULL-AUTO rifles we made took 3 days to get an FRT for. This simple .22 we have been told is a MINIMUM of 120 business days to classify ! Hang tight guys, we are doing the best we can.
You know what! Kudos to DLASK for doing this! I haven't spoken to a single 10/22 owner who isn't pissed about the magazine restriction. The RCMP don't write the law BTW... they... just like anyone have to the best they can with what they've got. All the haters can suck it up an' take one for the team...
I like the 10 round magazine. Easier to carry, no da*m mag hitting the ground when prone or hooking on twigs when crawling through the brush to get to the meadow on the other side.
What exactly are you up to?
Playing Rambo with a .22?
