I just bought the Dlask stock adapter and sling plate for my XCR.
I'm planning to get a Magpul CTR stock for it.
What all do I need to install this? Will the stock come with everything I need?
Do I want a mil-spec or commercial stock for the Dlask adapter?
Is the adapter difficult to install, or pretty straight forward?
Also any single-point sling recommendations would be great.
Thanks.

It's pretty straight forward
if you have a little mechanical skillz.

You need a spanner wrench for the tube castle nut.
and a set of allen keys for the little allen screw to index the tube.

Commercial or milspec they all have the same thread.
The adaptor will fit both,
but if you didn't buy the stock yet,
I suggest you buy commercial.

Are you sure you bought the sling plate? Not the ambi mag release?
I thought they were out of sling plates

For what you will be using it for there is no advantage between commercial or mil spec, but commercial spec are lot more commonly available.

besides the stock, extension tube, you will also need a wrench and castle nut all be found at any sponsoring dealer's store.

I bought a commercial carbine stock kit from questar (buffer tube, buffer spring, buffer, castle nut, plate and stock) for about 60 bucks.
Then you can sell the parts you don't need (buffer, spring and stock)
It was cheaper than buying all the parts separately and paying shipping.

Make sure you get a stock wrench though, it's a terrible pain to do it without one.
It doesn't matter what you get (commercial or mil spec)
commercial was just created to bypass patents on milspec (or maybe I have this backwards)

There's lots of videos on youtube of installing buffer tubes/ sling pates (just ignore the buffer and spring installation)

Pretty easy, takes about 3 minutes to do.

I have a Dlask XCR-L adapter with a CTR stock on my XCR-L it is very easy to install.

I like this set up a lot.

As do I .

I also bought the nea stock adapter (non folder) so i could but a ubr stock on my xcr (dlask wont work) and found i didnt like it as much, went back to the dlask adapter/ctr stock.

I find the dlask adapter finish better matches the finish on the xcr.

Both great products but the dlask float my boat that much more .

I have an NEA adapter as well had it Cerakoted OD green I find the stock sits slightly higher and the adapter is slightly longer than the Dlask adapter.

I like both but prefer the Dlask.

Yeah I really want a UBR stock. I'd take one any day over the CTR, but I find that NEA adapter a bit fugly. It seems to sit at the perfect height, but it also seems excessively long, which I really don't like. It just doesn't look right to me.
And yeah, the color definitely seems a bit off.

Why won't the Dlask adapter work with the UBR stock?

Okay, I'm home now and can see firsthand why the Dlask adapter is not going to work with my UBR stock. NEA adapter has been ordered.

Camp Cook, what did it end up costing you to have your NEA adapter Cerakoted?
