I not taking anyone's "position". I'm simply pointing out that that everytime someone (be it Dlask, Marstar, Wolverine... whoever) bring something new to the Canadian market, people seem to jump down their throats for not bringing in exactly what they wanted.

Be thankful that this stuff comes in at all and enjoy it while it lasts.

Frankly I don't care about anybody's reasons for wanting a PAC5 over a Beretta Storm or an AR-180B. I've owned both those rifles and I hated them both. No, I actually, truly loathed them. However, that being said, I still say hat's off to the guy(s) who imported them for all those who do enjoy them.

Why try and discourage someone from offering a new black rifle? What's there to gain? If you don't like it, then don't buy it. It's that simple.

If you think you can do better, then step up to the plate.

how does this spring-assisted pump work
Normally you would pull the slide back, then push it forward like any other pump - but, if you just release the slide, it will chamber the round by itself (buffer spring does the work). I tried it, works fine.

I suppose if one hand were disabled you could cycle the slide back with one hand then release. Wouldn't be quick, but would be possible.

I like it! If they're ever produced in a non-restricted model I'd buy it. Should make for a great little carbine to tote along while doing a little fishing and potting the odd coyote if he should happen along! Looks like it'd be lots of fun plinking and killing cans, especially with a 30 round legal mag! :D

+1bigtime , that definately has a hi fun value

Yup, that's my thinking too. Non-restricted is the ticket.

Well its restricted so that kills that.

This carbine is currently being reassesed by ottawa as apparently now they have someone there who actually knows a little about guns.If it doesn't get non-restricted status they will tell us what has to be done to make it non-restricted.It can be changed without too much problem.
I see lots of people asking why it was made.Well it was originally made because there was a need by police forces for a patrol carbine that could reach past what a shotgun could do.Perhaps the boys that got shot by that whackjob in Alberta might have had a fighting chance if they had a weapon that could have reached out a little more. The reason it was modeled off and AR was because AR's are so prevalent that most people have used one at some point, making retraining police on a new weapon not as much of and issue. Why not just go with an AR you say?In this world of politically correct and people constantly beaking about police states, would people want to see almost every cop patroling the streets with an "M-16" in his car?Wouldn't bother most of us any but joe public would be freaked out.The police are very tuned to make sure that public perception is favorable and don't want to jepardize that by issuing "assault rifles" to thier officers. The beauty or the PAC-15 is this.It can be annodized in just about ANY colour making it less of an "Evil Black Gun",making it no different than the currently issued shotguns. We could even add a wood slide if they wanted. It's pump action and does not have stoppages due to gas problems or any of the problems AR variants have. It's simple and solidly built with a free floated barrel. Those of you who are touting the Remington's quality have obviously never picked one up.It is a junky piece and poorly built.
Building guns for the public was more of an afterthought. So if it doesn't seem like the focus was put on that...your right it wasn't.But for good reason. The police patrol carbine market was the focus. And still is for the moment.
For those of you that need to know, although I don't work for Joe,I work for another company that consulted and helped out with design and some of the manufactoring.Grens Vektor actually did some of the machining.

To my knowledge, Baalan (Dean) is the only person here authorized to speak on behalf of Dlask Arms. All comments from anyone else are simply hearsay.

Given that the Dlask website has recently been updated, it stands to reason that this issue has already been settled.

The Intial design was not a Dlask Arms but the copoperation of others they may ie: Longshot may have info regarding the status with the RCMP as there is a strong interest in this project among those of us here on this board

I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone other than myself and the info that I have gained from design to production to now. What I wrote above was info passed onto me by one of my co-workers who colaborated on the rifle. He and Joe talk regularly.Take it for what you will.

Give Joe the benefit of the doubt here.He has produced an outstanding piece of equipment.Hopefully, with a little luck,we will all be able to get our hands on these to see what they are really like. Its not like he isn't trying.

I was talking to Joe during the initial build up on this gun and it's proto's. We all thought no way it would come up restricted. To say he was hamstringed by the restricted determination is an understatement. It was surprise to just about everyone involved I am sure (although I suppose nothing that happens with the feds can really be surprising). It is a quality build, and shoots superbly too.
