Anyone have any opinions on DNZ mounts?

I know some complain about lack of max spacing on rings?

Any recommendations for model 7.

I usually use Picatinny rail but wonder about top loading fat stubby SAUM cartridge with rail in way?

Or should I go 2 piece base?

I have an extra low on order from Optics Planet. They seem to be special order. I had them make sure it would ship USPS. I'm not worried about bell clearance but it's going to be a close one with the bolt handle.

I've had Game Reapers on some 700s before and was quite happy with them. I also have one on order for a T3X.

Hi 350mag,

I was looking at that mount for a Seven as well. The canadian dealer didn't reply to me.

I got a set of Talley rings 720720 (extra-low). It's tight but the handle clear the rear of a NF NXS 1-4. No rail could provide such a low scope position. Pretty happy about it. I like that it's one piece, no base+ring combo.

I will take extra care to make sure the rings are fully aligned/paralel. The rear mounting bolts are so close that they would allow the ring to rotate a few degrees. A concern we usually spare with a rail.

I am leaning towards the extra low...

I will likely buy the mount.

Measure the clearance.

Pretty sure a 40mm objective will clear but will buy scope to match the mount.

I use Talley Extra Low on my M7's That DNZ has that bridge to just get in the Way ! jmo RJ

It finally came in. DNZ Extra Low with a Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8x36. I could clear a 40mm scope if I needed to. As predicted, the fit with the bolt handle is tight and I've had to remove the rear Butler Creek cover. I'll have to shave it down eventually. Short LOP on the KUIU stock results in the scope being more forward than I'd like, but I'll put up with it for now. The link between the front and rear of the base is offset to the left and completely clears the loading port so no worries there. The DNZ also saves me 3 oz in weight over the Nightforce rail and ATRS rings combo I was using previously.

Been there, done that, wasn't happy with it. It worked just fine though.

Ya it's a shame I have to go that route but don't want to wait to order something....

I realize whatever I mount will likely sit too high so that's why I am adding cheek pad.

I like these pads because I can carry some spare ammo, my license and tags.
