Hey all,

Hoping someone has already done the leg work on this one and can help me out.

I'm looking to mount a Nikon PROSTAFF 3-9x40 Rimfire Matte BDC 150 on my Savage MKII G with a DNZ Game Reaper mount.

My question is, does anyone know if the medium hight mount is tall enough to clear the iron sight and allow for flip open caps or do I have to go with the high mount?

Thanks,

Jon

Pretty sure you will need the high mounts. I have weaver med mounts and I can't get the cheap dust caps on the front. Nice optic on the mark II

This is my Savage MKII G with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40. The bases and rings measure .75" from the top of the receiver to the underside of the scope tube. The High DNZ mount is 1.25" to the centerline of the scope tube. So the high will give you just enough clearance over the rear sight. That being said if you pop out the rear sight (because the DNZ is not a quick detach mount anyways) you could get away with the medium and be closer to the bore.

Thanks for the replies, and for the picture GMC403, it gave me a good idea of the clearance I'd have with the DNZ. I think I'll go with the medium mount and just lose the rear sight if it gets in the way.
