Do any other guns have a better bang for your buck than the Tikka ?

I have hunted with a Tikka Whitetail hunter Deluxe in 7mm mag since 2003. It has always been my go to rifle. With my handloads it is unreal accurate and has never failed me. However, after this hunting season I have now decided to get a lighter rifle in a caliber that doesn't kick as much. I want a stainless synthetic model and I chose to go with 270 Win. I have always liked Tikka and really if it weren't for Google and me looking around I probably would have just bought one instead of posting this. There are so many choices these days. I searched the Forums and read a bit but I thought it would be worth asking if there is a gun out there that rivals the Tikka in terms of "bang for your buck". I want a nice, accurate lightweight rifle...( doesn't everyone).
Zastava ?
Kimber ?
Montana ?
The new Weatherby Vanguards ?
I have never shot or owned these brands are they any good ?

Tikka superlight. Under 6lbs, and you already know you like tikka, but be warned that the T3 version newer than yours has substituted plastic in a few areas to keep cost down.

If you don't care about the detachable magazine, I would vote for the kimber. You could put the superlight in a McMillan hunters edge stock for not a lot more than the kimber though, and be within 5 ounces of the kimber, AND have the detachable magazine (if you care about that).

I'd buy a mountain ascent or an Adirondack if they would make me one in 22-250...

Kimber Montana is an awesome band for the buck IMO. It will be very light, I don't mind a blind mag for the kind of hunting I do.

Keep in mind a .270 in an ultralight may kick you just as hard, or harder, as a 7mm RM in a heavier rifle.

Howa 1500, Vanguard, or plain old Rem 700 for new....
HVA 1600's or FN98's for used in the $400 range are tough to beat.

I owned 6 Tikka T3, I still have 3, love them. Lately I've been hunting with one of my Sako A7. I really like these, good upgrade to the T3. Good Luck.

you know I never thought of this. Good point and thanks.
I like the detachable mag over a blind one. I thought 270 would be good but I have only ever shot a standard type rifle in that caliber, not a lightweight. I would really like a lightweight in 7X57 but 270 is good.

For those who say consider the Browning it is just s personal preference but I don't like Browning.

have you considered 7mm-08? I'm not sure what you're hunting and if it would be suitable, but it gives you performance close to a .270, but won't kick quite so bad in a light rifle, plus being a short action you can shave off a few more ounces on the receiver length.

Agreed... A Ruger compact in this caliber would be perfect.....

Seems you are more concerned about light weight and recoil. Tikka t3 and lightweights are notoriously bad kicking rifles. I think a T3 would be a disappointment compared to your deluxe IMHO. Those deluxes are very nice and have some weight to absorb recoil. If you have to have light weight the Weatherby Backcountry, Ruger or Kimber are better guns than t3's. If you don't mind a bit heavier gun and don't want to blow the bank the Vanguard is tough to beat.

I don't like Brownings much either ;)

Kidding aside, I own and shoot a tikka t3 superlite and dont find recoil that bad. Its been said before, but upgrading the factory recoil puck to a limbsaver makes a big difference.

7-08? I gave this some thought actually as I love my 7X57. I just thought the 270, not sure why. I am going to look into this. How is it to hand load ?
I would say lightweight is more important than recoil. I really didn't think the recoil of a 270 in a t3 would be a big deal.
