Do better equipment make 1/2 MOA more easy to attain?

It is likely not so much better equipment as more appropriate equipment. 5 X 5 under 1/2 MOA is pretty easy with the right equipment and could be out of reach with good but less appropriate equipment.
The 5 shot 5 group under 1/2” has been mentioned. When I posted mine I had 9 in a row under 1/2” and I did it at 100 meters not 100 yards. It wasn’t because of extensive load development because that 9 group target had 2 different bullets, 2 different powders for 9 different loads. It wasn’t because I’m some sort of super shooter because I’m not, frankly. It wasn’t because I tried 20 times because again frankly I wasn’t even trying in the first place. Hell I was just doing a bit of preliminary load development. What I had going for me was a purpose built full on F Class rifle. A half trained ape could do 5 in row with that. It would take a pretty special ape to do it with a sporter weight rifle.

Surely you jest? The Autotrickler will be an order of magnitude more consistent than a beam scale.
My rcbs 10-10 and 5-0-5 both register a single stick powder kernel that I trickle on there so I don't think there is an order of magnitude more consistency with an auto trickler possible, perhaps compared to a lee safety scale..
Time saving; absolutely.

Match bullets are not required but possibly your loading could use improvement, but I suspect you are not capable of shooting one half moa.

I just tried my new FX scale and compared my beam scales.beam scales were a couple of kernels +\-
The digital scale was out half a kernel .
I guess I could have split the kernel in half🤔🙄

Yes you can... cut a kernel...
I don't think it matters if you use a beam or digi scale... You need to be very wary of air currents around your equipment. The slightest air current against the pan will change the results. This is the big thing with the V4... everyone doesn't seem to look at the invisible influence on your measuring device... But it's there... Cheers

There’s a 50 meter range close by so I tried her out.
Factoring Hornady 143 precision hunter

Second picture was mid load 7828 Hornady 143 elf-x.
First three were tight last two opened it up.

Odd thing was mid load 7828 called for 2900 fps out of a 26 inch barrel.
I was averaging 3000 fps out of a 20 inch barrel.
Getting an extraction swipe too

Also, I was using bags and I adjusted the Bix n Andy trigger to just a touch over 1 lb.
She’s touchy 😁
Jayzus,
What kind of barrel contour u got there?
Those groups are NOT a good indicator.

Are we all lake trout here?
I feel like I am being trolled

Yes,I hate to admit it but that’s probably the issue.
I like to shoot a bit fast as well,
But having said that, a buddy was recently having a hard time with his open sights on his ranger rifle (tikka .308) and wasn’t sure if it was him or the sights.
I fired 3 shots at a hundred and it grouped at around 3 inches.
Maybe just luck

Just rolled a few for 3 shot groups
Hornady 143 eldx
Nosler 140 BT
H1000
100 yards

I’ve done better

We all expect to find perfection.... within our limitation to count to three or five....
But we should always consult the book of armaments.....

OP: I think you need a mentor. Check with your local range. It’ll save you a ton of time.

I just got back from the range, where I was working with a woman shooting her new 10/22. A friend and I put new aperture sights on her rifle, and at 20 yards, she was putting 5 rounds in a dime, using Blazer. She was doing this over and over, and she’s just getting used to it.
