Do better equipment make 1/2 MOA more easy to attain?

I’ve been chasing a true 1/2 MOA gun for a long time.
Best I’ve got was approximately 3/4 MOA ish .
5 round groups
I’ve had customs , high end factory, you name it,I can’t get that 5 rnd consistent group at 1/2 MOA
I’m using an RCBS reloading kit that pretty much included the basic.
Beam scale,etc.
I’ve been reloading and shooting for approximately 12 years and can’t get to the 5 rnd group 5 times.

So,is it me ? Or the reloading gear? Or both ? Lol
I just upgraded to the RCBS 3 way trimmer,A&D FX-123 and auto trickler.
And a factory gun that claims 1/2 MOA 3 rnd groups.
I could live with that if it was 5 round groups x 5 times
 
Please say more and a picture of your setup wouldn't hurt.

Bench or prone. Sand bags? Front rest rear. Cartridge? What bullet are you reloading? Need match bullets rather then hunting. ( just fishing here)

Have you tried factory ammo like federal gold medal match sierra matchking?

What caliber. Bullet type, weight, barrel twist?

What dies? Have you measured runout on your reloads?

I doubt an auto trickler will be better and more consistent than your rcbs beam scale.
Money would likely be better spent on a chronograph to see where you are with velocity etc.

Is your press a steel rock chucker or an aluminum RS?
 
I upgraded to the trimmer for speed, I don’t think it matters as much.
I’m thinking the powder thrower is more important so I bought the fx.
I’ve shot from lead sled,sand bags,bipod and it doesn’t matter.
I can shoot a 3/4 to 1 inch group fast or slow.
But can’t get that 1/2 consistently.
My current set up is Fierce CT rogue CT 6.5 PRC / Leica 3- 18
Nosler 140 BT
Hornady 143 ELD-X
H 1000
IMR 7828 SC
I’ve only ever used hunting bullets.

Maybe I should try target bullets?

I’ve had a couple custom builds around 8 lb mark,couple factory HBs,9 lb +
Few lightweight high end , don’t matter.

It’s gotta be the hunting bullets or I suck lol

How is your wind doping ? That makes a big difference , otherwise you wouldn’t see all the range flags/windmills at a benchrest match. I taught a lady many years ago to dope wind, she went on to win several national prone Canadian sporting rifle championships, she could hold and squeeze but she could really read the wind.

It’s only 100 meters ,usually not much difference
